    Quick update for those who helped or may be interested.

    Speed vastly improved but variable. We’ve had folks ringing us and engineers in to check stuff so certainly seem to have prodded ‘them’.

    At the moment monitoring speed during the day and it seems really good in the morning (4.7-5.3) but gradually tails off during the day to 1 (or 0.1 again on Weds night). We’ve to report back and there’ll be further investigation.

    Now to download STW while it’s fast!

    Ours drops in and out every couple of minutes or so and slows down very noticeably as soon as the neighbours (on BT) walk in next door – people on the other side say exactly the same too. We reckon BT get priority over the network as they have no issues at all. Wouldn’t dream of trying to watch even a short video, it’ll be buffering for half an hour.

    Virgin claim either it’s not a problem or that I don’t have enough letters in the router password(!). Have just accepted it, it’s either that or switch to BT who will just rip us off, I left them years ago for that reason.
