I usually run 2.1″ panaracer fire xc pros as my all year tyres but decided to give some 1.8″ panaracer fire xcs a go as the winter chilterns mud set in ( currently sloppy, wet, covered in rotting leaves with hidden slippy roots and patches of deep sticky gloop). So far i’m unconvinced by the skinnies due to the tendency of the front to nosedive into the gloop. What do you lot think of fat on the front and a skinny on the back?

I use a 2.1 Trailraker on the front and 1.95 on the back but that’s more because I want a bit more traction on the front.
