Anybody using such fans, if so worth the money?

Thanks for that, think I’ll try a cheapy one, as stove is inset, but with a good air gap above and either side, we do seem to get a massive hot spot in front of the stove.

The biggest benefit of mine seems to be its value as a highly visible thermometer – I’ve no glass door so otherwise I can’t see when the fire is getting low. Maybe the circulation helps too, hard to tell really. Stove isn’t in an alcove so wasn’t really a problem in the first place.

I got one of the ones that Stoner links to, albeit from a different seller

I have not been blown away by its effectiveness so far!

People seem to be very much in favour of them in general- am I expecting too much?

When you put you hand near it, there is little perceptible draught, should there be (it goes round very quickly!)

Stoner, what’s the height of the fan excluding the handle?
The diagram says 26cm but that seems to include the handle. I’ve got 24cm to play with above our inset stove.

    SB:

height to rop of handle: 255mm
height to tip of fan blade at TDC: 223mm
height to top of body (excl handle): 203mm

Mine performs v well. I notice if I have left it on the other stove and havent brought it into the other room with the stove running. Hence why Im off to buy a second.

remember to place the fan to the rear of the stove top so that it can draw the cooler air across the stove. The idea is to initiate circulation not blast hot air around like a heater.
