Just got the open date for our works C2W scheme – hooray! looking to get a winter/all round bike to take the milage off my good cx race bike, and something a bit edgier than the MTB.

Thinking of a drop bar genesis ‘day one’ or even a kona unit 29er or similar. The scheme is through halfords so there is an incentive to getting a stock bike but I really do like the genesis.

Any advise, particularly anything with 29 wheels and one gear, or something nice and simple – rigid forks a must.

I picked up a croix de fer this morning from a very nice chap at epic cycles, only been for a nip round the block so far but it feels really nice. Intending it to be my bit of everything bike.
