Morning all, I’ve been riding rigid SS on a 29er for years now and I’m comfortable on a 38t front and 18t rear.

I use it at the FoD (inc vereders) and Cleeve hill (and other non-hilly places).
I normally use my geared bike for Bredon but want to use my SS when the weather turns bad, but don’t want to be pushing it (too much!).
Is there anyone out there that gets up the ‘yellow brick road’ on a SS and if so, what gearing do you run?

I’m thinking of sticking the 32 on the front and 16 or 17 on the rear?

Any advice is welcome as I want to get it near right on my first outing.
    I’m thinking of 32front and 16/17 rear?

impossible to answer, i have done it on the road bike, 39×23. Depends on how fit you are.

As for Cleeve not being hilly, your not trying hard enough…

Yeah, it was a bit of a long shot.
Just going to have to try it and see.

    Thanks for the reply.
