    Alreet,

I want to build up a PX London Road with XT 10spd triple cranks, but with a narrow/wide (i think that is the lingo) single ring.

I will use Shimano 10spd STI roadie shifters.

    My question is:

If in the future I decide to go full triple, put all three chainrings back on and an XT front mech, will the STI shifters work with the MTB chainset and mech?

    Thanks.

Are the shifters triple specific. They need to be.
Almost universally MTB mechs don’t go with road shifters. Bound to be exclusions

    Yes – triple specific STIs
