This is an alternative which has quite a lot of climbing, but nothing too steep. Took me almost 3 hours. Yeah it's only fireroad but a good route say for someone taking newbies out or whose partner would not want to do a red at say Mabie or Dalbieattie. A good all-weather fitness route too!

    Start in New Abbey

Then out to the start of the fireroad:

    Past the logging:

    More climbing

    Start of the descent

    Views open out

And you can see the sea

On the descent, looking towards Rockcliffe where I was on Monday

You end up on a road and go past Criffel:

And end up back at New Abbey!

I know I don't post the most exciting photos, but I enjoy these kinds of rides a lot and feel like i am getting some semblance of fitness back again! 😀

No.Clive. Currently plying his trade from Mabie Shed cafe

You need to go up to the monument and take the descent off to the left, ends up on a farm road leading back to New Abbey via the sawmill. Take aa spare set of pants 😆
Take you for a walk some evening after work, 4pm?
