    Right silly question time.

I know the amount of sag I should have on my rear shock. The shock has an sag o ring. I have a tape measure.

It’s been a while since Ive had a full squish bike.

Do I just sit on the bike to set sag? Feet on floor or riding position? I’m guessing the later.

    Thoughts?

Wear likely kit e.g. Camelbak etc. Carefully get on with propedal etc. Off. Feet on pedals-I balance against a wall..

DH bike – standing in riding position
XC bike – sitting in riding position
AM/Enderpo bike – your call, going to be compromised one way or the other.

Obviously be careful not to bounce the suspension otherwise it will read too much sag.

A really useful tool I just discovered for checking your getting the correct amount of sag is a straw cut to the length of the sag in mm. Means when you get off the bike just pop it between the o-ring and the bottom of the shock. No more faffing with tape measures 😀
