I’d definitely accept an AMG G-wagon, but I’d feel like a pillock driving it. Someone I (sort of) know has one – the most mild -mannered and humble guy you could meet, very unassuming when you meet him. And then he starts that up and – oh – the noise! 😀
I almost think G-wagons are cool. Way more so than a Cayenne/Q7/Bentaga etc.
Didn’t the term SUV start off referring to a chunky pickup truck but with a posher interior, popular with younger Americans for an “outdoor” lifestyle. Merkans didn’t really have cars like Range Rovers (apart from the Jeep line) until quite recently. The term has now come to mean any car styled like a four wheel drive, though most of them (quite sensibly) have dropped the actual 4×4 aspect in the interests of weight and fuel economy.
