I sold my previous 456 and regretted it within minutes. This frame was second hand, I had it powder coated and built it up over the winter. It’s solid, honest and pretty – and reminds me of proper mountain bikes when they were (almost) all made of steel. Love it. 😀
another 456.. cos it seemd like the best value frame available.. a bit of a triggers broom.. this photo isn’t very recent but it’s the most accurate representation of the current configuration that I could find..
It does exactly what it says on the tin and hasn’t disappointed me once yet..
(Am however thinking about going back to steel (had a Trailstar for years before this) – same build (although maybe longer forks too), just on a BFe frame).
And here’s my other bike. Dunno if I’d say I love it but it’s good for fitness rides. Gets more use than my mtb as we don’t have much interesting off road but loads of nice quiet flattish country roads.
I still reserve the right to whinge about the lack of travel skill compensation (in fact negotiations are underway for something, er, bigger to fall off on the d/h track) but Gibson ain’t going anywhere this time.
