That’ll be your highness if you don’t mind. Descended from the Kings of Fermanagh no less 😀

Do the English not do this sort of thing?

In England, arms are awarded to the man, not the family.
IIRC, you are not allowed to display arms to which you personally are not entitled, and you can actually be prosecuted for doing so.
Not that it ever happens now.

I think you are allowe to display the crest, though, the bit at the top over the helmet, like the 3 feathers above or the blue dolphin thingy below.

I can’t find my coats of arms, but my uncle once traced it back- I remember our family motto, it is a bit shit though:

    “Stand fast and hope”.

I ‘own’ the title to a Highland estate in Lochaber. You are more than welcome to visit it at any time, but one at a time please, it is not very big, just 12″ by 12″. However this seemingly allows me to bear the Lochaber coat of arms.

    Scam!

However, it’s possibly a bit of a scam m’thinks, to raise a bit of cash.

On a different note, I think (I’m not certain though)that any citizen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Norther Ireland is allowed to wear the Stuart tartan, because the Queen wears it too. Or something.

Anyway, I used to wear my father’s tartan (Murray of Atholl). The entitlement to do so (I was told) lasted for three generations. My Gran was a Murray, so whilst I’m permitted to wear the kilt my kids are not.

This is the best I can find, I’m not wholly sure its accurate or legit, my family are a bit of everything, historically Portugeuse the family history also includes lots of Indian ancestry as a result of the Portugeuse colonisation in the 1500s, then Bombay and eventually Lancashire….
