  • Should you give your dog more food when it's cold?

She seems hungrier now, but then she is a greedy dog. Wonder if she actually needs more food for burning calories to keep warm – it's cold in here in the day when I am at work.

We always give Ted a little more food at each meal in the winter. He does more running in the fields because it's colder, and needs more energy to keep warm and for putting his winter thatch on.

kea gets more food but she sleeps in a kennel outside, if the dog isnt already thin it shouldnt be a problem, both Kea and Ted are lurchers so dont have much in the way of fat reserves.
