It’s my birthday soon, should I throw four parties: one for the parents in law (they’re based in Scotland and they have a long history of not being very nice) 😐 one with my wife and child, one with the lads and one with work bods.
    Wadda ya reckon…..

Wife and kid, and mates if you want, but not the other two.

(Is this a trick question of some sort?)

The Scottish one sounds like a wasted party. The other three probably take you for granted so I wouldn’t bother. Just stay at home and watch telly – it’s not worth the effort.

My last party was my 50th. I invited family, friends and favourite colleagues

Assuming it’s a milestone birthday such as 40, because there is no other valid reason for an adult to want a party, I would just bin the idea and buy a new bike with the money saved. Wife will then make you a lovely dinner full of all your favourite foods like mine did and invite only your closest and best friends. I had a great 40th but I am a bit of an introvert.
