  • Short Stem (30mm ish) for Giant Anthem Overdrive Steerer?

    Hi
I have a 2015 Anthem with the overdrive system.
Currently using a Giant stem at 60mm.
Anyone know of a shorter one that fits?
    Thanks

Is it a 1.1/8 or 1.1/4 stem? If it’s the latter I don’t think 30mm is doable because 1.25″ is bigger than 30mm (as obviously is 31.8).

Giant OD is just their name for normal tapered steerer, so 1 1/8 for the stem.

Giant OD2 has the larger steerer tube limiting stem choice.

I think 2014 bikes where the last of the OD2 before Giant went back to standard size (which they still call Overdrive).

Worth checking what size you have, as if it is 2015 with 1 1/8 OD then 99.9% of stems will fit.

    (31.8mm / 2) + (1 1/8th” / 2) = let me get my calculator up….

    am back… 30.1875mm

30mm cannot be done. 35mm would be very close.

Unless you can get one of those dimpled bars and a stem to match.

damn forgot to do the calc for the 1 1/4″ OD…

30.16 (depending on your rounding, 31.8mm is 1.25″ so it depends what you start with)

    …31.775mm.

What the hell is the point in 1 1/4″ with only 3mm difference?

Anyway, again you would be lucky to find 35mm. 45mm might be more likely if not 50mm. I very much doubt you will get a stem for those dimple bars for a 1 1/4″ steerer
