  • Short Seatpost Shim. Will I die?

So I bought myself a ‘USE’ thermoplastic shim to step up my 27.2mm seatpost to a 31.6mm for my Mega.

Essentially, its carp…and I’ve now read about others who say its undersized too. My seatpost moves about no matter how tight I try to get the knurled nut on my QR clamp.

    So, I bought a Deity one…

Its half the length at 50mm of the USE one. Will I die, or will my frame?
Presumably they wouldn’t make them so short if it meant people would die?

If the shim reaches to below the top tube/seat tube join, then fine. Otherwise, it’l be like having too short a seatpost and it could stress the frame.
