I pretty much know what I want, but I can’t find an OEM bike that fits the bill.

    13 stone, 6’1″, 43
Fairly fit, no slouch on XC, just a bit crap on technical

    Any wise comments on:

    Scott scale 910 frame
SID XX Solo air with poploc
    Hope BB stainless
    Hope pro4 XC wheels
    Guide R brakes
    SRAM GX 1×11 32 -> 10-42 I think. 1400 crankset, 175mm
Some carbon bars – riser, slight upsweep
A saddle 🙂 not sure on those. Not stupid expensive

Mainly the fork I cannot decide about. I’m sure that this will work out more than I can justify paying.

Your list is quite specific which means you’re less likely to find much that will meet your requirements.

Why not buy the parts and build yourself?

In true STW fashion of recommending what you ride maybe a Titus Fireline or Parkwood if funds don’t allow which is maybe slightly more trail than XC if you’re bothered about marketing bs distinctions.
Personally I’d be looking at a more robust fork (34mm stanchions) for your weight, and I’m half a stone lighter than you
    😉
I found riding a 32mm stanchions fork a little flexy in the Peak.
Have a demo on one or as many as you can to see what suits.

Surely that’s what the above list is??

Anyway it’s all personal kit preferences when you are building it yourself. If it were me, I’d go xt instead of the sram for drivetrain and brakes, Easton bars and a Fizik Tundra saddle (or whatever fits you).

Wheels – probably something handbuilt. I’d chat to the wheelbuilder and get their recommendations for my weight, spoke count, etc. Currently liking pacenti rims.
