Do they move, do they need lubing?
Put off set bushings in and shock performance was awful ,back to standard and shock ok.
Low friction bushings suggests something somewhere moves.
Never really thought about it before.

What was awful? A bit more of a description is required.

Put a drop of lube on some on a hunt the squeak quests and thats it.

Dropping off a kerb the shock wouldn’t drop down to the road . Would compress on hitting the road, imagine a shock with no sag.

Are you sure they are actually the right size and no slightly under/over somewhere and so binding when the bolt is done up?

..So the pressure was just incorrect for the new position?

let the air out and see if they move freely through the travel.

They use bushes because the angle that the end of the shock shafts move through is so small that bearings aren’t really necessary.

As above – if it’s not working properly then I’d look at air pressure or installation error.

They appeared to be correct but to be honest wouldn’t know if they weren’t.
It’s just that my other bike has developed a similar trait and I was wondering if maintenance is required.

The fact that putting the old ones back in cured it suggests it something specific to the new bushings I would have thought.

Don’t lube shock bushings or mounts. Inner bushing surfaces are self lubricating materials and the bushing itself should not move in the shock.

Your shock bushings would have to be very badly fitted to prevent shock movement.

Are you sure you’ve put both the offset bushings in the right way?
If ones the wrong way round and offsetting in the wrong direction it’ll make the shock feel funny..
