Time for a new chain and cassette on the road bike.

I’ve always sworn by Sachs/Sedis/SRAM chains because 10-20 years ago they were much easier to get along with and lasted way better than Shimano. Times change and 10sp stuff is a different beastie, so… What’s the score these days? Has the durability evened out between the two makes? Will an SRAM chain still run flawlessly on a Shimano cassette in the world of 10 speed?

(Current kit is 5600, which has been faultlessly smooth but I’m faintly suspicious that it’s worn a little quicker than I might hope. Options for new kit are likely either a 5701 chain on a 5700 cassette or a 1091 chain on a 5700 or 6600 cassette.)
