Just fitted a new set of M785’s but noticed they are seeping fluid from the master cylinder seal when the lever is pulled. Anyone else had this?

Possibly just superfluous fluid from the original fill/bleed process, before the piston can create pressure in the hose, it’s primary seal has to pass the port into the reservoir, this creates a little pressure in the reservoir which expands the diaphragm, and will pump out any fluid on top of it (Hope put a note with their brakes to say it’s normal). On the other hand, they may be faulty, if it continues then they probably are.

Thanks for that, I shortened and then re-bled them myself and then it started. Very familiar with Hopes but these shimano are new to me so wondered if I had done something wrong. However after several wipes and lever pulls the fluid seems to have stopped leaking so it must have been what you said. Ta.
