    Hi,

    Can the Shimano M647 pedal be used for riding with non cleated shoes ?

    you can use them like this for short blasts but for long rides its not a great experience…depends on how soft the soles of the shoe are and how grippy they are…although the pedal has a cage the mechanism still sticks out enough for you to feel it pushing into your shoe…also the cage on the m647 is resin so wouldnt provide enough grip…i have the m646 and they dont offer that much grip without an spd shoe either so i use flats if i go non spd…
