I’ve been clip curious for a while so decided to give it a go. Went for shimano M647 pedals and 510 impact vxi.

There seem so to be a lot of float where I can move my foot around a fair bit before it unclips, feels slightly unnerving as when I’m riding my flats (510’s again) my foot is stuck fast to the pedals.

Tension on the cleat is backed right off as I’m a newb for clips so will increasing the tension limit the float? Can’t see me getting on with clips if my feet are freely moving around. Ironically feels like I have less control now.

The float is relative to the cleat, increasing tension won’t make the float any less, road cleats have differing amounts of float, see if you can find some cleats with less float?
