  • Shimano Icetech rotors, formula Rx calipers – compatible?

Have just got a set of Shimano rotors in anticipation of replacing my Formula Rx brakes with new SLX or XT shortly. Any reason why I can’t put the rotors on now and run them with the Formulas (rotors are both 180s – was wondering if there was anything else to consider)?

Didn’t work for me. The track width was different, which led to excessive wear on the rotor arms which lead them to failing. The rotor was ripped off the arms. Luckily for me the rear one failed first otherwise it could have been a high speed OTB.

    Just saying like…..

OK, thanks Selled, I assume by track width, you mean the part of the rotor in touch with the brakes? I’ll have a closer look, would only be a short time before putting on a full shimano set up?
