Maybe it's coz I'm thick but I always forget which ones I need, conventional, top, bottom etc.
I have it written down somewhere safe, but I've forgotten where that is 🙂

    Anyway
2007 [older model] Yeti 575 – currently has an XT FD-M771
    can I use a SLX M667 or 661?
I think I can but the more I read, the more doubt I have

depends mostly on the seat tube shape and thickness

Is it the direct mount version?

    Yes, I know – I'm asking if a 667 is a suitable replacement for a 771

Is it the direct mount version?

Ok from what you have said the 661 is the direct replacement for the 771.

I'm putting on a new SLX double & moving the XT cranks etc. onto another bike
