Just got some deore hydraulic discs on a second hand bike and the front and rear have different bite points (ie one much closer to the bars) however they don’t feel spongy and there doesnt appear to be any way to alter this on the lever body itself. Does this sound like they just need topping up or a full bleed? Pads look like they need replacing too, but this shouldn’t have an affect should it?

I don’t know how old they are before anyone asks either which won’t help too much and I don’t have any photos at the moment.

Force the pistons back into the calipers and try again.

    Remove caliper from the frame

Squeeze the lever a bit to push the pistons/pads out a tad more

    Top reservoir up with fluid

refit, the bite point should now be closer.

This is just trial and error, but dont queeze the levers too much so it makes the pistons pop out
