Have a new post-mount fork, my old style XTR brakes are IS, amazingly there doesnt seem to be a bracket available to mount them.

If I just go and buy a new post mounting XT or XTR caliper will it connect OK to the brake hose?

You after something like this? Or are you wanting to keep the rotor the same size?
New rotor would be cheaper I guess?

Or this one think you can pot different callipers on though. My cheap brake from Merlin was XT lever and XTR calliper.

That might work just fine, is it for Hope brakes you think or universal?

…I saw the Shimano one at CRC…..£35…..for a bracket.

Think the hope one will be universal, the brakes fit standard bikes anyway, didn't look at prices as I wasn't shopping 🙂 Seems a little pricey though.

The shimano one's on CRC are all for obscure set-ups, that's why they're so expensive. When i bought mine, about 3 months ago, they weren't more than a tenner. However in saying that all of the adaptors on there serve the same purpose. So if you're looking for a 160 IS to 160 post just buy the cheapest one, same applies for any variations in size.
