Anyone got any experience of these on non platform clip less pedals? Thinking of dabbling with spds and I like the am40 flat shoes. I have been donated some shimano pd m505 pedals, wondering if the am45 shoes will be ok or if I should look at something stiffer.

Xc side of trail riding on a hard tail mostly!

    Cheers!!

    Smaller pedals need stiffer shoes.

Tried to ride my roadie with CB Candies on and 5.10 minars. Not so much fun as the mallets.

When I used to have those I was using Spec Shoes (comp or above I think)

The shimano AM40s will be fine IMO.

I find the soles too flexible for m520s over decent distances and can get more power down using stiffer soled shoes.

I have both versions of the shoes, find them great on flats
