    Evening

Anyone know if any of the early ish (7.15-7.45 ish) trains from sheff to chest accept bikes without pre booking?

    Cheers

They do but you’ll struggle. There are always more bikes than spaces. I do shef to Derby everyday and see people battle for the spaces.

Hmm will give it a go. Is it a guard’s van job or just jump in a carriage? Sorry for all the questions! Trying to avoid using the car and train will make a 60 mile a day commute more like low 30’s by bike.

crosscountry require you to reserve a space (bike space/luggage rack)

    midland mainline don’t (guards van)

On the plus side, theres trains every few minutes so no need to hand arround dtoo long.

On the minus side, I’m not 100% sure the MM trains stop in chesterfield (and some XC ones dont either).
