My man cave at the bottom of the garden is too far from the house to put mains electric into it. I dont need 240v in it anyway, as all i want is lights and possibly options for a radio.

I know there is plenty on here with campers that may have 12v solar for topping up the leisure batteries and I’m thinking that may be a route to go down.

Anyone got experience of doing it?

Yes it is easy, I managed it with no previous experience by calling travelvolts.

Sounds like you need a panel, a controller, a leisure battery, and a fuse box. Then just the things you want to power (led lighting available v.cheap in lots of different lormats), fuses, crimps/connectors, and a big coil of wire.

If you are in the Bristol area I have a 100w panel + mountings you can have for £50 (am upgrading)
