I remember reading in Cycling Plus an article comparing the sizes of carbon footprint, with in increasing size, the materials going bamboo, steel, alu, carbon, and then titanium, with there being potential for titanium to be greener than others if the frame lasts for a very long time due to a lack of rusting away – which may possibly seem like an academic observation going on the number of cracked ti frames which can be talked about on here (or possibly not)?
Anyways, I find myself thinking some kind of ‘footprint rating’ could be a good idea for products and frame in mountain biking magazines.
