I have a sh*gged Reba fork which is in need of some TLC. Is a fork service a DIY proposition, bearing in mind I’m cack-handed, ham-fisted when it comes to bicycle maintenance? Is there a service kit I can buy which covers the major seals etc which may need replacing?

Head to Tf tuned for the seal kit and you can get the oil there too (local motorbike shops are cheaper though), the service manual is on the Rock Shox website, and Rebas are pretty simple to do anyway – sorted.

I was very pleased with myself having done the first DIY service on my forks – until my wife pointed out I had one spare ‘O’ ring left over!

After dissembling them again and pouring over the manuals and all the parts for about an hour, I finally realised it was the ‘O’ ring that goes on the stanchion to set sag 😳

There`s lot of online guides and tutorials,including a comprehensive walk through on the SRAM website.

Theres nothing that is too hard,its more a case of being methodical.

I managed to do mine,and Im certainly not the worlds greatest mechanic.
