Question for the more technically minded among you

I have lost my phone but need to send a text. I do have an old android phone but it doesn’t have a sim card. Don’t want to use whats app or messenger as the receipient (my mum) wont have that instaled

Any apps let you do this in the uk. Found one which does exactly what I want it to, but in the us only!

Probably your best bet. Or iMessage if you’re both on iDevices.

Just use your home phone number as the “reply to” number – then the text reply will be picked up as such and “read out” to you (BT offer this by default).

Or just phone her from a landline and get her to write down the message!

Just a one off? Get someone else with a working phone to send it on your behalf and forward the reply via email.
