We normally use full cream milk (blue top), but yesterday my wife brought home some semi (green top) as that was all the Coop had.
But it takes twice as much semi-skimmed as full cream to turn my tea the colour I like.
Pointless!

Try going off flavour, rather than colour
I love full fat, but it only takes a dab to taste lovely, need about 1/3 of a mug of semi for that.

You can make better cappuccinos with semi-skimmed milk.

Can't remember the last time I had full fat milk, I'm sure it would taste like Elmlea these days.

It keeps her happy (& she not fussy about much else) & i've just got used to it, as it easier.

I quite like those "filtered" skimmed milks, not sure why but they seem to regain some body vs a bog standard skimmed milk, which always looks & tastes like water that someone has cleaned paint brushes in, after painting with white emulsion.

I'm not a fan, minor lactose intolerance, cream makes me vom.
However the point of milk is that French people make cheese out of it ! Reason enough on it's own.

Rubbish! It is the other way round (and the coffee tastes FAR superior with full moo in it).The boring technical stuff...
"Ice cold semi-skimmed straight from the fridge" I hear you cry, or so Joe Espresso down the round told you - "It's the only milk that will foam, you'll be there all day with any other". It is true that chilled semi-skimmed will foam very easily, but full fat or any other type of milk will foam readily if you have good technique. What chilled semi-skimmed does is mask poor technique - because it will produce a bit of foam even if you stick the steam arm right to the bottom of your frothing jug - but that's not foaming it's steaming!
So you are *sort of* right, but only if you are rubbish and can't do it properly.

bleurgh.. we've just moved back to full fat after 25 years on semi skimmed.. (baby needs blue top) everything tastes creamy and is greasy and tea is disgusting..
full skimmed however is equally as gross for the opposite reasons..
I also don't like canned veg if that sheds any light on the debate..?

(seem ok with sheeps milk / goats milk - but they're weird too. some sheep/goat cheese is nice - see above)

Semi-skimmed is fine, it just tastes like what you remember as normal milk after a while. Skimmed though always tastes like watery pish no matter how long you try and stick with it.
