Is a 5 Pin padlock the same as a 5 lever padlock?

effectively yes, but easier to pick.

most insurance companies spec a five lever deadlock to a door but upvc doors have a 5 pin cylinder and they accept this.

i would however, check with them before you buy as you can also buy five lever padlocks if they wont accept this.

5 pin locks are usually a cylinder the indents on the key, push the pins up, by a certain amount, and allow the lock to open.

Where as a 5 lever lock has 5 levers that coreseponf to the indents on the key, 5 lever mortice locks can be fitted with anti drill plates and other security features, to stop drilling, and are marked BSon the foreend, the bit on the edge of the door,

Cylinder locks are also sold as anti drill or are hardened, some of the newer lock cylinders have ball bearing anti pick devices fitted.
