Ive been allocated the lucky person in the office that will be getting a Secret Santa present from me.

I’ve a budget of £5 (but could extend a little bit) for a present.

I don’t really know the person but I do know he’s a tax accountant and likes cycle touring.

Does anyone have any bright ideas for a (non-smutty ideally) present?

    winter thermal socks.

I always prefer functional over novelty. Why buy a joke present which will only add to landfill after the ‘joke’ or ‘novelty’ has worn off after 2 minutes.

    Great idea!

he’s a tax accountant and likes cycle touring.

    He definitely has a cat.

Along with pressure into buying birthday/leaving/baby/sick/death gifts/cards/cakes, donating daily for some charity someone insists is worthy even if you don’t agree with them or already donate, Secret Santa comes under the same category for me …

    No!

Never mind your lucky person, I think you should use the present allowance to buy the organiser of your secret santa a calendar – it’s not even mid-November FFS*!

*I am discovering that this year I have a real grump on about ‘Christmas Creep’ as I’ve just coined it.

I love Secret Santa in my office. I buy myself a present and that’s it.

I also get to have a lonely mince pie and sherry on Christmas Eve if I can be bothered. I usually shut up the office early and go for a ride. Far more fun.
