    Hi All

Doubtless this is a topic that keeps coming up but we’re on the lookout for a decent motor for lugging bikes/kids (2-3) and cmaping gear about the place. The default is a Berlingo, but for a ‘decent’ 2010 one with <60k on the clock they seem to go about 4-5k!!

So, been looking at some older alternatives or higher miles:

Peugeot Partner 2.0HDi good condition no service history £1800

    Fiat Doblo 2009 Multijet D 1.3 £2200

The other thing would be to go for something like a Vectra hatchback which would be a petrol but you could pick them up for £1k and go full bangernomics.

    OR something like a Zafira.

So, would you go with condition on cars of this age/type if they had no service history?

Its a privileged choice to have to make as it would be a second vehicle, but I have the fear it could be a potential PITA minefield!

    Your thoughts would be appreciated!

If it is a second vehicle I would go bigger. Scudo / dispatch / Peugeot equivalent and add rear seats. That or old 7 seat MPV.

As far as service history you are unlikely to get that at this end of the market. Ask for receipt for oil and filters etc
