I got a new frame came today and i love it although I have a problem. The seattube is listed as 30.9 but I’ve tried 3 different 30.9 posts and none will go in without forcing them.

I’ve wrecked one post now and my ks lev doesn’t fit in at all?

I’ve tried without the collar on and still the posts won’t go in without being forced and then won’t come out.

This isn’t right surely? What’s my next step?

Is it simply a case of go back to the seller?

Either back to the seller or find an LBS with an appropriate sized reaming tool.

If I went to an lbs any idea what cost I’d be looking at? Would the seller pay for this. I don’t think I should be out of pocket from new.

talk to the seller and see what they say? They may prefer to get it back and do it themsleves and you don’t want any come back later if you get it done.

    Whats the frame?

Are you SURE its supposed to be 30.9?

If its supposed to be, but its not I would return it rather than go through the reaming process.

Argos quoted me £25 to ream a ST but that was for upping it from 27.0 to 27.2 so maybe more work than a straight forward ream?

Yeah that’s what I thought. Emailed them yesterday but nothing yet.

So annoying I want to get out riding this weekend.

Santa Cruz Butcher and all the spec sheets show 30.9.

It’s more a case of I can’t use my dropper as it won’t fit.

Ha ha I know mate, the size on this one is perfect though.

Little arms and torso so the short toptube is spot on.

Little update anyway, the always excellent 18 Bikes in Hope is sorting it for me right now. Seattube needs reaming.

Lets see how much I spend whilst here.

And done, 18 Bikes reamed the seat tube for me as a warranty job.

Super happy now. KS Lev fitted and working perfectly. Can’t say enough good stuff about Jungle either. They are sending me free bushings and upgraded me to a Kashima shock too. Turned around the seat tube warranty in less than a few hours.

    And here it is:

    Lovely golden Kashima goodness:

And KS Lev fitted and working perfectly (seat clamp is on order):
