EA70 seatpost stuck in Reynolds 853 steel frame – is it f*”!ed or is there a way of getting it out that works? At least it’s stuck at the correct height!!

Plusgas. LOTS of Plusgas. Spray/pour it around the top, through the BB and/or bottle mounts, and then apply some more. Let soak for a bit (15/20/30 minutes?), try to wiggle out/”gently tap around” with mallet. Repeat.

Yes lots of plus gas (expensive though), or you can Take out the bottom bracket and pour some Coke, Irn Bru etc down and leave for a while, and like jimbo tap with a rubber mallet and wiggle out.

The best way ive found as a last resort is after soaking take the seat and wheels off, then vice the seatpost upside down and use the frame as leverage to free it, Depends if you want to keep the post, the downside to this technique is that if the seatpost dies it can be alot more hassle.

If the seatpost breaks you then have to hacksaw slots in the post and hammer the thing inwards which can be very messy.

Make a plasticine mould for the plus-gas around the seatpost and let it do it’s stuff.
I have used a diy clamping table, saddle on post, frame upside down and stipped as leverage. It did work but saddle and post were torn to shreads.
