    I’m not sure if:
    a) It makes no difference.
    b) Slots should be lined up.
    c) Clamp slot should be 180′ opposite frame slot.

    Tell me before I go for a ride go up in smoke.

    metal seatpost = line up gaps
    carbon fiber seatpost = gaps 180 degrees apart
    Seems to be the answer.
