Fancy taking the kids round Scotland next summer .
    Ages 9 7 and 4
Thinking a mix of accommodation like glamping self catering and hotels
Only had quick look so far but thought of comrie croft and castle Cary near kirroughtree.
Quite fancy Edinburgh and aviemore too
Any other suggestions for places to visit and accommodation
Be packing wetsuits sit on kayaks mountain bikes etc

Comrie croft is great for kids that age, any time I have been there are loads of kids just roaming about in the woods or on their bikes.

Glenmore campsite up at Aviemore is similar, right next to Loch Morlich for using your kayaks but you might need a tent – there were some new cabins being built next to it last time I was up, or somewhere like Badaguish has wigwams nearby.

How about the wigwams at Glentress?

There are new little wooden lodges next to the Pinemartin at glenmore.
Clachtoll or achmelvich for proper out the way beaches, Oban. Honestly depends what you want. We got to Aviemore a lot as it has great stuff to do for everyone.

Cheers not 100% sure what we want exactly yet.
Bit of a road trip mix of everything.
Probably do glentress while staying in Edinburgh as have relations to visit there.
Think you were in morzine when we were there in summer nzcol

I live on Aviemore and moved here because we frequently came for family holidays. There’s tons of stuff to do in the area and you’ve great beaches along the Moray coast less than an hour away.

But be aware that it’s not quiet. During any school holiday period there’s lots of folk about (not at Lake District levels) so you do need to book early.

Badaguish pods are a good call. Lots of trails from the door. Glenmore campsite is right on the Loch Morlich beach for easy paddling.

Aviemore is great for kids – highland wildlife park, feeding the reindeer up the mountain, highland folk museum and landmark Forrest adventure in carrbridge.

Gorsebank pods at dalbeattie are ace too, more or less right on the trail, kippford etc just doon the road.

Agree Achmelvich is a great beach, but surprisingly busy when I was there in the summer. Really preferred Achininver; we spent a couple of days with it almost to ourselves, but no shop for ice creams!

    Getting the ferry from Ireland.
Have a week booked in aviemore.
So thinking of a stop off on way up for a couple of days and then probably Edinburgh on way back

Trossachs/Killin area could be en route without a major diversion and has lots of activities. There’s a few places with camping pods.

If you want any advice on the Aviemore area, just ask.

    Those beaches look stunning
Thing is we are pretty well off for excellent beaches living on the north coast of Ireland
