As per the title, we're heading up to scotland in march, hoping to ski but being realistic we'll also be taking bikes, just in case the hills are closed due to "weather".
Obviously there are many trail centres we can visit (have ridden many of them as far as Golspie and love them), but what natural routes should I look into, "just in case"?
Will be moving around, planning to stay Braemar (Glenshee / Lecht), moving to Grantown (or maybe Aviemore) (lecht / cairngorm), then somewhere around Fort William / Glencoe.
If the ski centres are closed, it'll probably be due to high winds or drifted snow on the access roads, either of those situations will probably mean that high-level biking will be just as unpleasant, so low level routes might be better. Happy to take suggestions from more local riders though.
Oh, and if anyone fancies joining us for skiing, pipe up
