    Anyone had trouble with these.
Setting up on Stan’s Alpha 340.
Two wraps of tape and no issues
    with previous tubeless Hutchinsons Fusions.
Stans in and soap on bead the Hutchinsons popped on
    with trackpump.
The Schwalbe’s don’t seem to have that pop.
Even when setting up with tube.
When I deflate with tube they don’t seem to
    lock onto rim.
Just slide down into central channel.
Next try is another wrap of tape and seat with
a tube for a few days.
    Then try again!
Borrowing a compressor this week if needed!
Scwalbes seem to be baggy so maybe just the rim channel build
    up will sort it?
    Thanks,
    Max

Im running them on LB carbon and mavic’s fine, the are tighter than the Hutchinson but i use a compressor which helps with the initial airdump needed to seat them

Not going to be particularly helpful for you but I have fitted them 4 times on fulcrum/campag 2-way-fit rims. Totally unmemorable and undramatic. No tape or rim strip. I use a compressor but I’m sure that these would have easily gone up with a track pump.

The general concensus with Schwalbe is that they’re a very tight fit,not baggy. Are you sure you’re inflating them enough to push them over the lip into the bead channel? How much pressure are you using when trying to seat them, it’s very rare for us to need much less than 60psi when doing them.

Not on those rims, but I’ve found other Schwalbe tyres on Crests to be a terrible fit. I fitted 25c Schwalbe Ones to my Kysyriums without any effort using just a track pump, no sealant and no soap liquid to seal the bead. Easiest tyres I’ve ever mounted and they have been fine for over a month (I added Stans fluid through the valve stem once seated to make them airtight).

+1 I’ve fitted Ones to various rims – Archetypes, DA – and they’ve got up no problem. Didn’t feel they were tight at all.

I’ve not tried them on Alpha rims though.

Sounds like you’re doing the right thing though. Build the rim bed up with tape and this’ll generate more pressure on the tyre.

    Yeah,
    It’s strange.
My Fusions went up first time with no drama.
Usually tape rims and seat with a tube for a couple of days.
Sealant and soap with no issues.
Noticed I could get them off easily by hand which indicates a loose fit.
They are noticibly tighter with another wrap of tape.
    Hopefully this will do it.
Looks like the compressor might be the key.
    Got one coming tommorrow!
    Wish me luck!
    Thanks,

Pumping them up to 100psi to seat bead so no issues there!

No real problems on easton ea90 RT (no rim strip or tape needed) just fit with tube, remove tube and inflate with track pump. No powder or bead lube used. I can just about fit them with my hands but need a lever to remove. Only issue I had was with the front that still had sprue from the mould so it wouldn’t seat properly so had to trim that with a scalpel blade.

    All sorted now!
Went double whammy and wrapped an extra layer of tape and borrowed a compressor.
Left the tubes in a couple of days to seat the tape.
Pulled the tubes out this morning.
Valve In one and i soaked the beads with soap suds.
    Compressor on and straight up!
Just out of interest I used the track pump on the other, guess what?
    Straight up!
Extra layer of tape seems to be the secret!
    Thanks for the advice guys!
