Typically we get our logs in rounds, and just need to split them for the pieces to be an appropriate size for the stove.

Recently we picked up some pine that was cut into 24″ pieces – too big to go into the fire directly and will need cutting up. To do so – and to allow me to do this independently of wife and kids I was looking for a saw horse.

Must be easy to use, compact to store and hold a log securely for cutting, without any faff.
Opinions ? I saw this one and thought it looked good..

Not used one personally but I’ve heard they’re OK although only one piece at a time.
I had some spare wood so I made a bigger one that I can load up with quite a lot and cut it all in just a couple of minutes. Great for larger volumes but doesn’t fold flat.

Doesn’t look very stable with a manual saw. But that’s not based on any experience…
