Does anyone have one built up XC but with different shock / forks for more gravity assisted schenanigans?
Are the bikes really versatile enough for both?
Any pictures of both set ups on one frame?

The frame definitely is. I have mine built up with a coil DHX5 and 150mm coil fork and I like the laid back, plush ride. I had a brief ride on someone else’s that was built up with an RP23 and Revs and I was horrified. It felt totally different, probably a bit nippier than mine uphill.

Would probably use the lighter XC set up more frequently to be honest, but now thinking of condensing a few bikes down to something that has the ability to do it all (albeit with different boingy bits!)
    Have you any pics?

Depends what you’re used to, but really it’s still pretty light built up with Marz AM forks and the coil shock, though it’s not really tight to pedal. When I switched from my hardtail it felt like I’d put on a stone.

ive got an old heckler ’07n and its been through various guises, currently with a rp3 and pikes but when it had the dhx5 coil it was ace for light dh and general razzing around..

I have a new heckler. One bike for all duties.

Lyriks up front. Pushed DHX 5 at the back (Ti spring)

It really is a do it all bike.

Mine was first built up light for enduro type stuff, felt quick moving and better up hill than I thought it would be
Then felt an itch for something a bit more hooligan and with a few trips to the Alps was great, bloody ideal for preened dh stuff and afew rides between lifts.
Now back in an all day guise and still love it.

1st build was 125 vanilla rlc, average wheels, triple ring
2nd was pikes, single ring, tough wheels with DH tyres
Currently back on the vanillas with crossmax

always had the 5th element coil on it as I’m bit of a coil fan. Mine is the older 05, would only swap it to the newer one for cheaper mech hangers.

ebay has a few, not the new style but tbh i prefer the look of the one before it. hecklers are the most versatile frames ever. they won’t do out and out DH or XC, but they’ll do everything in between very very well. I’ve got one and i love it.

I always think mine looks heavy but always amazes me how light it rides. Love, ride all day, hammer all day – just right!
