Cheers cynic-al, what’s the best fork length to go for?

I don’t think there is any “best” but you can build them up how you like.

I run mine with old 120-150mm 36 talas and occasionally 130mm revs. Latter run fine but might look a bit odd on the current frame.

Do a search – there have been a few recent threads on them.

have to say, I love riding mine – though do find work gets in the way most days 🙂
Running a Fox 36 Talas on the front of mine, wound down to 130mm for normal duties but winding it out to 160mm for fun time duties

After a long time of not getting on with it, and planning on selling it..

Ive finally found that I enjoy it..

Now with risers, not the flat bars as in on here…

damn! was hoping for a cheap deal on the classifieds 🙂
Got an old one, with a coil shock and 6″ forks it is heavy, very plush and very very nice going steep rocky downhill. Road and smooth uphills are bobtastically energy sapping. Good for tech climbing tho.

Im contemplating retiring my Blur Classic and getting a nice new lime green Heckler frame and swapping the bits- including a Magura Laurin 130 fork….

Am I making any kind of mistake?

No, but I reckon you’ll need a bigger fork?

Would I get away with 130? Or do I really need a pair of Revs or Pikes?

You’d get away with it I reckon..

I ran mine with 115 rebas for a bit and it was fine. But pikes made it so much better 😀

I had an ’06, great bike, better with 140mm forks, imagine the new one is the same with 150/160mm forks. Short top tubes for frame size, be aware. Might be worth trying a size up if you can.

They are superb bikes I miss mine even though I went to a Blur LTC. Its a fun workhorse of a bike that sucks up whatever you throw at it. If I was going back to it I would either have a 150mm travel fork or even better some 36 Floats with spacers in to change to what feels right for you. For me it was leaving it at 160 but you would have the choice and not lose any of the stiffness which in my opinion far outweighs the small weight penalty.

Guys, which forks would you recommend for “do it all” stuff (as the sc advert says).
I’d use it for trail riding, some downhill tech stuff and the occasional bit of jumping.
    cheers

Been using mine with a et of Lyrik Uturn coils. Run them at 140 for uphill and the full 160 for the downs.

Just changed to a set of 2011 Fox Van 36 RC2’s!!
