  • Sandstone Way – anybody done it?

Sorry if this has been done before but I’ve just found out about this route and fancy doing it in May.

Anybody done it? Looks like it would be fine on a cross bike?

Anybody suggest any good campsites along the way?

Looks like a train from the end at Berwick back to the start via Newcastle is no problem.

Haven’t done it but it keeps popping up in my FB feed and I’ll definitely be giving it a go this Spring. Will make a change from the c2c route.

It`s mostly quiet tarmac backroads with spells of landrover track and field edge thrown in.Sign posting includes, stickers on grit bins, and on overgrown fence posts.Full suss would be overkill.
It passes our road end.Good Luck 😀

I’ve ridden chunks of it. It seems a nice route. Some parts are fairly gloopy at the moment but when (if) it dries out then it’ll make a nice fast ride.
The published map is excellent showing enough information so you could divert between road or off road depending on condition of trail or how your legs are feeling.
