Off for a familyish w/end in Salcombe.
Any point taking bikes of any description ?
Not looking to drive to ride, and don’t like busy roads ?
    Cheers

My uncle lives there and iirc there is not a huge amount of local bws and the lanes are so narrow that you’d be constantly leaping into the hedge to avoid speeding tourists. We drove to dartmoor to ride when we stayed with them (on their recommendation)

Have a great weekend though, some lovely pubs and restaurants there.

Not really, there’s precious little around there to be honest.

    Get a Yawl instead, y’all!

That’s Jim Stone’s old boat, I believe, and an utter beauty she was/is! I spent a massive part of my formative years on the Salcombe Estuary and adore the place!

    Uninteresting fact #2

Spent most of my holidays sailing from the other side of the harbour (couldn’t afford Salcombe) stayed at Kellerton…Nice part of the world for walking and sailing, not much biking though

I don’t think my dad or uncle will ever actually forgive me for riding bikes instead of sailing boats 😀
