Just put a 5l bottle full of screenwash in my car and (a) it didn’t reach the top, and (b) the computer still says it’s empty. Didn’t get wet feet so I don’t think I spilt too much

I hope the reservoir hasn’t split, but does anyone know how much it takes to fill one up?

I’d say the sensor has gone – it went in my Astra with the same engine as your Saab. 5l is plenty.

Has to be a contender for most boring question of the year surely? 😉

my late model 900 took a full watering can +

but half a milk bottle would be enough to shut up the on board computer.

switch it off and on again.

If you have headlight washer jets, they tend to have huge capacity tanks. My signum (also a GM car of the same age) holds just over 8 litres. That said, the warning light should have gone off with after the first couple.
