    Just wondering if anyone’s run V2 calipers/pads with non-V2 rotors ?

I’ve bought a 2nd set of wheels to use for marathon races (very light with narrow mud tyres) but not sure what to do about rotors. I’ve got a Hope V2 brakeset which need specific V2 rotors (very wide track).

For example, if I try V2 brakes on a Hope saw rotor, the pad would over-hang the lower edge by about 3 or 4mm.

But I’m reluctant to spend another £80 on a pair of V2 rotors just for spare wheels, especially as I’ve got spare Hope saw rotors. And the V2 design of rotor is now obsolete, i.e. all new Hope brakes work on any standard track width rotors.

I’ve considered using a Dremel to remove some of the friction compound on some spare V2 pads, which might be OK as I wouldn’t be running the calipers like this for long. Or I could just try the V2 pads with normal rotors and see if it works ?

    Any suggestions ?
