Sadly what I need to know won't live up to the title I've given…

Tyres – I have tried loads but still can't find that perfect choice. I use trial rakers in Winter, then want a tyre to cover the other half of the year. I prefer a slim(ish) light(ish) tyre. Its to go on a Turner 5spot (DW link). Which is used for Xc rides and jumping/playing about. Must be UST (tubeless).

    I've tried the following:
Panaracer rampage 2.1 – like them a lot but to narrow at 2.1 and too wide at 2.35.
    Continental Rubber queen 2.2 – too big/heavy
Contintental Mountain King 2.2 – total pants if its wet
Kenda Nevengal 2.1 – really draggy and lack feel.
Kenda Blue Groove 2.1 – currently thinking of trying these again
Bontrager Xr4 – new tyre 2.2. To big/heavy otherwise like how they ride.
Panaracer Fire Xc Pro 2.1 – good tyre but boring as had loads of times before.
Nobby Nic 2.1 quite liked them am considering the 2.25 width but worried maybe too large for my liking.
Maxxis High Roller 2.35 (used on downhill bike) like these they do a 2.1 width again a consideration.
Spez. chunder/storm pro – never end up liking Specialised tyres.

I can't think of any others I've used, I ride on the Surrey Hills and would welcome any recommendations and views.
    Thanks.

How do you mean a 2.25 nobby nic will be too large for your liking?

Im riding a nobby nic 2.4 at the minute on my sometimes rigid/sometimes 130mm travel SS inbred. Its the most mental tyre ive ever used and perhaps its a bit big but i cant see how a 2.25 would be too big. Probably a better tyre in fact.

My only complaint about NNs is the price. 😥

2.1 high rollers and ignitors with the LUST sidewalls are good
