I am having problems with my Thule roof rack model Velo Vise 511 it's the one that the forks go into the slots. The problem is that they don't seem to clamp one side of the fork very tightly.

Anyway to fix this?

have you tried stripping it down and rebuilding it – that may work?

so are they gripping both sides?

tight on one and not so tight on the other???

how stable does the bike seem when you wag it?

will a sharp tug pull it out of the rack??

tight on one and not so tight on the other so it waggles when I push it side to side but It does not seem to be able to pull it out of the rack. The thing is can't strip it and rebuild it because it's a concealed unit.

oh sorry forgot it was a closed unit.

I've got an old one in the garage that I use for bits.

not mint but just checked it and it pulls together on both sides.

could send you the head part for postage cost and you could try that??
